About event
ALL COME TOGETHER'
Experience a sparkling Christmas concert with a heart-warming story, performed by soprano Johannette Zomer and her musical friends. With special guests pianist Bert van de Bert van den Brink and Maartje van Weegen as narrator.
The story, written by Alice Zwolschen, takes us to Zaal Brink on the village square where the local theater association is busy with preparations for the annual Christmas performance. Els and Mirjam have a vicious battle over who can play the role of first angel and business manager Freek is much less stress-resistant than he thought. Caterer Jaap cancels the day before the performance because he may have been poisoned by his own food. The solution ultimately comes from an unexpected source, and in fact Jesus' grandmother never doubted it... Accompanied by her baroque ensemble Tulipa Consort, Johannette Zomer, together with singers Linde Schinkel and Emilie Wijers, frames the story with the most beautiful Christmas classics by Monteverdi, Vivaldi, Handel and Bach. And pianist Bert van den Brink, together with his jazz combo, will provide accompaniment to the lighter repertoire, which includes English, Spanish and French Christmas songs. Everything melts together with the closing song Have yourself a Merry Little Christmas.
