About event
The course is intended for nurses, midwives, doctors, children's nurses, doulas.
A one-day workshop focusing on communication skills in lactation counseling with an emphasis on interdisciplinary cooperation.
The course focuses on challenging situations that we often encounter in the early postpartum period – from emotionally tense moments to working with women using psychiatric medication.
The morning part is devoted to respectful communication, prevention and recognition of postpartum depression. Understanding the psychological problems that can fundamentally affect breastfeeding.
The afternoon block brings practical case studies and model situations from field care, where participants will try out how to combine technical skills with a sensitive approach to mother and child.
The workshop helps counselors and health professionals better respond to difficult moments, understand women's emotions after childbirth and provide professional, safe and humanly supportive care during breastfeeding.

PROGRAMME
8:30 — 9:00 Introduction to the issue of communication in postpartum care - differences between lactation counseling in the field and in a medical facility.
9:00 — 9:45 The morning psychological block is based on real case studies by psychologist Zuzana Bílková, who works closely with the organization Úsměv mamy. We will look at typical errors in communication, the emotions of women and the emotions of us - counselors. You will learn how to conduct a conversation safely and how to set boundaries.
10:30 — 11:00 Break
11:00 — 11:45 Communication exercises in groups
12:00 — 12:30 Lunch break
12:30 — 14:00 Afternoon block — practical case studies and model situations from field care.
14:00 — 14.15 Break
14.15 — 15.30 Practicing breastfeeding positions – practical experience, working in groups.
15:30 — 16.15 Discussion
