🎙 Dikanda - world music
Dikanda is a world music band from Szczecin, particularly recognized on the foreign music market. In his work, Dikanda focuses on the authenticity of style - he is looking for new trends and most of the songs are original compositions.
He draws musical inspirations from the traditional folk sounds of the broadly understood Orient - from the Balkans, through Israel, Kurdistan, Belarus to India. In their songs you can mainly hear Balkan and Gypsy sounds. The band has existed since 1997. Dikanda has released 7 albums - including DVD Live recorded at the Witkacy Theater in Zakopane; hundreds of concerts (mainly in Germany, Austria and Switzerland, but also in Russia, India and the USA), they also won numerous awards - including the "Album of the Year" from the German magazine "Folker" awarded in 2005 for "Usztijo".
Dikanda's concerts are an extremely emotional journey through ethnic sounds, a spontaneous meeting full of energy, charisma and true feelings. A characteristic feature of Dikanda is the creation of new words in the lyrics of songs, this is how the group's original language - "Dikandish" - was created. The most important thing in the band's work is the message, which is the relationship between the artists and the audience.
