Besides her parents, his singing and musicality grandmother, father's mother Kateřina Holá, née Miklošková, whose repertoire began to write as a high school student and later almost in the tape recordings. From an early childhood, he was led by the involvement of both parents in Sokol's events and his father's engagement at the amateur theater. As children grazing geese, Dušan and Luboš Holi appear in the film Karel Plicky Eternal Song (1940). As a university student, Jaroslav Jurášek, who led him to cooperate with the Brno Radio Orchestra of Folk Instruments (BROLN), flickered him in the Moravian ensemble of songs and dances. Since the foundation of Broln, he has worked here as a solo singer and expert advisor. He participated in a number of domestic and foreign festival and concert tours. As a singer, he interprets mainly the songs of his native Horňácko. Its voice dispositions and a rich pre -register are rightly considered as a leading artist of this region. Dušan Holý's singing is recorded on radio recordings and many sound media. As a singer and dancer, but as an ethnomusikologist he contributed to conscious cultivation and developing folk tradition. Later he attended Samek Dudík with Jaroslav Jurášek in Myjava to capture as much as possible from the repertoire of his former music. He worked for several years with the Brno dulcimer music of the radio editor Antonín Jančík. Later he worked with the Ostrava music technician and her artistic director and cimbalist Jan Rokyta. It was based on both its individualistic foundation and the gradual knowledge related to his profession that the preservation of folk songs and music and all other viable traditions should be supported primarily in the original environment. However, his opinion did not prevent good friends from members of various ensembles. In October 2002, he received a medal from the hands of the President of the Republic of Václav Havel for merit in the Czech Republic in the field of culture. Among other things, his contributions to the theory of folk songs were awarded and the book The placing a song was lifted, in which he exposes the tragic of the Holocaust of the Roma for II through the song on Auschwitz.
