Koncert pro rodinu Oldřicha Janoty : VOLE, BIBIONE, TOMÁŠ PALUCHA, GINGER WIZARD,DENIS BANGO & KABAL

At the end of July of this year, Oldřich Janota died, a person who really meant a lot to all of us. An excellent guitarist, composer, but above all a poet and teacher, who by his shining example taught us to live life to the fullest and only follow our own path, without compromises and without sentiment towards the past and acquired certainties - be it musicians or others. He taught us to continue on, to see further, not to get stuck in development and not to give up in difficult times and adversity. Like the mythical Prometheus, he stole the divine fire and secretly brought light and a message of hope to us ordinary people in his songs and books. It was a kind of trench warfare with normality and everyday life that drags many people down and many, even if they are promising and talented, give up after a while and settle down. But he never gave up and never relented. As a musician and a man of letters, he represented an absolutely unprecedented and unique phenomenon within the Czech Republic. Just look at the discography, the list of albums and collaborations, it is truly breathtaking. And to that, books and musical texts, aphorisms and poetry. No prizes, no liveries, no fame and money. Just the love of art and life on the road.
He published his excellent recordings and books, created in cooperation with his closest family and close friends, until his last breath on his own label, Republic of the New Moon. And the concerts he played dozens of times a year, even though he was seriously ill in the middle years and they had a tiny daughter, he often played these concerts in obscure places far from home without the right to a fee. Only out of pure love for music and the people who formed a community around it.
He gave so many people hope, so many people showed direction, and he constantly gifted us all with his work and lyrics and wanted nothing in return.
He ended his life and work at the age of 74, and after his departure he left behind a little girl Ukinka and his wife Romana, as well as three excellent albums, which are now being released on LP and as a book with an attached SD card.
With this benefit concert, we want to pay tribute to Oldřich, his work, but above all to his family.
