About event
Winternitz Villa presents a concert - Štěpánka Balcarová Quartet
trumpeter and composer Štěpánek Balcarová will present her latest album "Emotions" in the villa. The theme is human emotions, which are described in eight new compositions on eight basic human emotions described by American psychologist Robert Plutchik: joy, trust, fear, surprise, sadness, resistance, anger, expectations. The conceptual album with this repertoire released with its Czech-Polish Quartet in 2023. The inspiration for this program was Štěpánsky's experience in the last few years of maternity: “Some emotions are getting a whole new dimension with motherhood and raising children. However, children are in a situation where this distance does not learn to experience every emotion as if it is not only a negative emotion.

Nikola Kołodziejczyk - Piano
Jiří Slavík - double bass
Grzegorz Masłowski - drums
