About event
Czech Radio Plus invites you to a conference called Fragile Security 🟠
What will the future of Ukraine look like when the guns fall silent? And what will this mean for the security of our country and the entire "old continent"?
This will be debated by guests at the fourth annual Czech Radio Plus international conference on May 20 in Prague's Vzlet.
In the first part of this year's main program, lawyer and director of the Kyiv Center for Civil Liberties Oleksandra Matvijčuková and journalist Natalia Humeňuková, co-founder and executive director, will speak on stage of the Kyiv organization Public Interest Journalism Lab.
The security challenges posed to Europe not only by Russian aggression in Ukraine and the policy of US President Donald Trump will be the topic of the second part of the conference's main program. They will be debated by American journalist Simon Shuster (The Atlantic), Polish analyst Slawomir Sierakowski from the ImpactCEE platform, and the former head of the British secret service MI6, Sir Richard Moore, will also join in remotely.
Moderated (in English) by Pavlína Nečásková.
In the third, final part of the main program, Czech President Petr Pavel will make an opening speech, and then the former commander of the Ukrainian armed forces Valeriy Zaluzhny, the current Ambassador of Ukraine to Great Britain. The so-called The "Ukrainian lessons" of Czech security and the army will then be evaluated in a debate by the Chief of the General Staff of the Army of the Czech Republic, Karel Řehka, and Jakub Landovský, the government representative for the fulfillment of obligations towards NATO.
Czech Radio Plus programs will be presented before the very beginning of the conference. Lucie Korcová and Vojtěch Koval will be the first to appear on stage at 4 p.m., who will present a new project about the Nazi war criminal Karl Hermann Frank.
This will be followed from 5 p.m. by a debate of the program Pro and proti about the limits of freedom of speech.
The introductory program (in Czech) will be accompanied by moderator Lukáš Matoška.
