Patient well-being and self-determination are central orientation points of modern psychiatry. However, illnesses can impair the ability to self-determine, which raises complex medical, ethical and legal questions, especially when patients endanger their own health or third parties.
We would like to discuss these complex questions in an interdisciplinary manner and in trialogue exchange - especially in comparison between Austria, Switzerland and Germany. The aim is to find better ways to strengthen patient autonomy, prevent coercion and provide the best possible treatment options.
In addition to plenary lectures, symposia and discussion forums, we would also like to present the results of current research and would be very happy if you would bring your ideas, results and concepts to the conference.
