About event
I am happy to invite you to a contact improvisation course. I will share contact improvisation techniques and methods with you and create a safe space for dance exploration.
Course starts on October 15th, 2024.
Taster class is September 24th .
The taster lesson is open to all those interested who want to dance once and also try the style of the class for the first time.
On the course we will focus on the perception of our body as inspiration for our own dance. We let curiosity trump ambition. It will include meeting other dancers, sharing weight, finding ways to hang and fly. We will use relaxation, gravity, inertia and balance.
What to bring: Bring comfortable clothes that allow freedom of movement (we also recommend a sweatshirt, sweater and socks if it's colder). We will work barefoot or in socks.
Schedule:
Taster lesson from 18:00 - 20:00:
- September 24
Course: we will meet for nine Tuesday lessons from 18:00 - 20:00 on the following dates:
- October 15, 29
- November 5, 12, 19, 26
- December 3, 10 , 17
Each lesson will be followed by a contact improvisation jam, open to everyone from 20:15-21:45.
JAMs start on September 3 after the Lightness in lesson lifts and there are also on some days when the course itself is not. All dates can be found in the event: www.facebook.com/events/1563070554606005/
