Avi Avital is the first mandolinist nominated for the Grammy Award. As a popularizer of mandoline he is compared to André Segovo, as virtuoso to the legendary Jasch Heifetz. In addition to Bach and Vivaldi's recordings, he initiated the creation of more than hundreds of new works for his instrument. For convergence, the artist, performing in the world's most prestigious halls, returns after five years.

The work of Vladimír Godár, one of the most prominent compositional personalities of Slovak music of the 20th century, has been a permanent part of the repertoire of the violonist Jozef Lupták from the beginning. In his discography, all the composer's essential solo, chamber and orchestral opuses can be found, many of the works were created directly for him. This also applies to Passacaglia and Lamento O, Crux, which for the first time at the convergence festival. Jozef Lupták's Solo Cello, the suggestivity of Godar meditations will be complemented by Johann Sebastian Bach's unearthly beauty.

👉 Permanent: Performers reserved. Matúš Valla. (Mandolina, IL)-Israeli native began playing in mandolin as an 8-year-old and soon became a member of a successful mandolin orchestra led by S. Nathanson. He studied at the Jerusalem Music Academy and Conservatorio Cesare Pollini in Padua (U. Orlandi). In the repertoire he has the music of various genres and styles (Klezmer, Baroque, Contemporary works, World Music, Jazz). He is the first mandolinist to win the prestigious Israeli Aviv Competitions competition in 2007. He plays a mandolin made by the Israeli lutnist A. Kerman. He initiated more than 100 orders for mandolin and orchestra, including works by authors such as A. Clyne, J. Higdon, A. Dorman, D. Bruce and G. Sollima, which he reported with orchestras and conductors: Munich Philharmonic. Urbański, Atlanta Symphony orchestra/r. Spano, Orchestra Sinfonica Nazionale della Rai/r. Bancroft, BBC Symphony Orchestra/d. Rustionion. It cooperates with musicians of many genres, including M. Esfahani, K. Bezuidenhout, A. S. Ott, A. Scholl, Dover Quartet, Danish String Quartet, Brooklyn Rider, O. Klein, O. Avital, M. Gedeck and Georgian Budgan Gagra. Thanks to his versatility, he presented himself at events such as Schleswig-Holstein Music Festival, Bozar in Brussels, Dortmund Conserthaus (Zeitinsel), Aspen, Salzburg Festival, Tanglewood, Spoleto, Ravenna, Misa Shanghai, Cheltenham, Verbier and Tsinandali. He toured with the Academy of St Martin in the Fields, Il Giardino Armonico, the B’Rock Orchestra, recitals with K. Sidor (accordion), O. Pashchenko (Čembalo/Fortepiano) and O. Klein (piano) and Australia with Violonchelist G. With Between Worlds Ensemble he performed in Boulez Saal in Berlin. The ensemble was created to explore various genres, culture and musical worlds focusing on various geographical regions. Avital records for Deutsche Grammophon and his sixth album for this publishing house The Art of the Mandolin (2020) has met with great recognition and best reviews in The Times, Independent, Gramophone, BBC Music Magazine, as well as international press. Previous Bach recordings (2019), Avital Meets Avital (2017), Vivaldi (2015), album Avital's own Transcriptions of Bach's Concerts (2012) and Beten Worlds (2014) have also won numerous awards. /Aviavital.com

Jozef Lupták (Violončelo, SK) - founder and artistic director of the Convergence Festival, which has been one of the most important music events in Slovakia since 1999. The tireless organizer of cultural life attended the Conservatory and VŠMU in Bratislava, continued to the Royal Academy of Music in London (R. Cohen) and at the Banff Center for Arts in Canada. It is one of the artists forming music and cultural space in Slovakia, for which he won several awards (the Minister of Culture of the Slovak Republic, the F. Kafenda Award) and the nominations (Tatra Banka Foundation Award, Czech Lion Nominations and Sun in the Network for Music for Amnesty). It works on domestic and foreign stages. As a sought -after chamber player, he worked with the world's leading artists and ensembles (R. Cohen, D. Rowland, V. Mendelssohn, B. Schmid, I. Van Keulen, A. Serdar, The Hilliard Ensemble, Fine Arts Quartet) and important conductors (A. Parrott, J. Bělohlávek, D. Gazon, D. A. Mogrelia). His regular teammates include I. Karško, M. Ruman, N. Skuta, B. Lenko and Ď. He works at the Academy of Arts in B. Bystrica and Conservatory in Bratislava, leads championship courses abroad, organizes educational events for students in Slovakia. Since the founding of M. Varga (2017), it has been chairman, artistically leading activities dedicated to the work of a musician, who also inspired the emergence of convergence. He realized a number of CD recordings, o. i. Bach's suite for solo cello, Brahms' sonatas, premieres of V. Godar, Crossover Projects After Phurikane, Chassidic Songs, Sleeping or CD on CD Free In One, collaborated on CD Jana Kirschner Morruša Biela). With the Norwegian-Slovak project Building Bridges, which connects musicians and genres across countries, he recorded an album Singing in 2024. He is currently working with the Dance Studio Theater on the performance of the Golden Department, for which he created music and with a set of S. Fehér, V. Šarišský, O.
