"The artist's solo recital can be understood as a symbol of the strength and importance of a person in society. The strength of an individual, connected to the community, is more important today than ever before," says cellist and artistic director of Konvergencii Jozef Lupták. The March Convergences in Bratislava were dedicated to solo recitals, a selection of which the festival will bring to Žilina as well. Two programs, two instruments, two outstanding personalities of Slovak performing arts with a wide repertoire. Cellist Jozef Lupták and accordionist Boris Lenko will bring to the New Synagogue the music they love, the music of friends and their own works.

Ausencias (arr. S. Assad)
Tango suite (arr. S. Assad). Assad). This is how "tango nuevo" was born, a new tango, a tango for listening and dreaming. The Convergence Festival will commemorate Piazzolla's work with a Milonga per tre concert of virtuoso arrangements of Piazzolla's works by the world-famous Brazilian guitarist Sérgio Assad. The compositions will be performed by excellent Slovak musicians Branislav Dugović (clarinet), Boris Lenk (bandoneon, accordion), Jozef Lupták (cello) and guitarists Ondrej Veselý and Martin Krajč. The program will also include a new work by Slovak composer Petr Machajdík.

"When creating the Zaobraz music, I didn't illustrate specific images or themes, I was more fascinated by my father's art abbreviations, reductions, the use of repetitive minimalistic techniques, playing with geometry and color, and last but not least, the handcrafted nature of art. Like the paintings, this music was created in silence and solitude, often with just one sounding guitar and many empty strings."

Visitors had the opportunity to experience the Zaobraz multimedia project at the March Convergences in the Moyzes Hall in Bratislava and in the Hogo Fogo club in Banská Bystrica. Guitarist, composer and producer Daniel Salontay was inspired by the ZAOBRAZ album of the same name. The audiovisual performance of the artist surrounded by stringed instruments runs parallel to the imaginative projection of images of the musician's father Alexander Salontay by video artist Martin Piterka. The evocative combination of music and visual arts in the premises of the New Synagogue Žilina will be an extraordinary experience.
