About event

Dark, romantic, ethereal, haunting...

The acoustic duo The Division Men from Texas/USA was originally founded in Berlin in 2008. The duo is now based in El Paso, Texas and consists of founder Jesus Spencer Portillo (vocals/acoustic guitar) and his wife Caroline Rippy-Portillo (vocals/bass guitar).

The name “The Division Men” came from the idea that artists from all over the world could work together regardless of their location. The band's new album features 17 guest musicians.

Caroline “Lucy La Loca” Rippy-Portillo was born in San Antonio, Texas. From 2007 to 2012 she played bass guitar for Tito & Tarantula, who in turn gained world fame through the soundtrack of the Quentin Tarantino film “From Dusk Till Dawn”.

J. Spencer Portillo was born in Los Angeles, California, but grew up in El Paso, Texas. His El Paso roots inform the lyrics, which reflect an atmospheric portrait of love, life and death in this border town.

The band has just completed their fourth studio album, which will be released in 2025 on Motor Music. The new album and a three-month European tour are planned for October to December 2025.
