The “Sonntagsfrauen” cordially invite you to the opening of their annual exhibition “Headwork” in the Ulme35. The show presents the group's diverse and exciting work results from the past year and offers an insight into their wide range of techniques.
Since their founding in 2017, the “Sonntagsfrauen” have met once a month in the Ulme35 studio to work creatively together, learn from each other and experiment with different techniques and materials under the leadership of Sibylle Reinshagen and Elzbieta Latacz. Sundays are dedicated to art, exchange and joint design.
From drawings to 3D objects
The exhibition “Headwork” is the result of intensive creative engagement with the topic of “head”. The title reflects the intellectual and technical work that goes into each work. Visitors can expect a contrasting ensemble of examples of artistic exploration of the topic of “heads” using various media:
• Plastic: heads made of papier-mâché and 3D objects made of wire and stone
• Graphic & picturesque: work in collage, drawing and painting
• Printmaking: interpretations in linocut
The exhibition is complemented by 7:30 p.m. from an atmospheric concert by the “Gechter Guitar Group” feat. Leyla D. The six-piece band based in Berlin is dedicated to sophisticated, groovy soul, blues, funk and jazz pieces from a total of 60 years of music history. Songs especially for bars and clubs to listen to, but also to dance to real live music.
The line-up consists of the fantastic lead singer Leyla D. as well as two electric guitarists, an electric bass player, a conga and other percussion players, as well as drums and backing vocals. A concert awaits you to enjoy, but also to dance. The outstanding virtuosity of the instrumentalists and the excellent singing of Leyla D. make the evening an unforgettable experience.
