Among the films with which the generation of up-and-coming filmmakers presented themselves at the end of the eighties and the beginning of the nineties, Smoke by director Tomáš Vorl has an exceptional position. The comedy, which bears the subtitle "the musical of the totalitarian age", is regarded as a cult project by both the generational contemporaries of the then thirty-three-year-old non-conformist creator and the audience who were just coming of age in 1990.
