🗣 December's double lecture on progressive landscape architecture entitled Urban Greening from the KRA/JINÁ series will present Ton Muller, a leading landscape architect from Amsterdam, and domestic landscape architect Štěpán Špoula.
Ton Muller is a landscape architect who oversees the planting of greenery in a wide range of complex urban projects and also works as an educator. His work draws from the Dutch tradition of floral design and planting in public space, while not afraid of innovative approaches based on habitats. He works with nature-oriented urban landscapes and draws on more than 25 years of experience that connects urban planners, ecologists and architects. His projects focus on topics such as biodiversity, urban climate, water management, health and community building, where design, implementation and maintenance play a key role.
Landscape architect Štěpán Špoula is one of the authors of award-winning projects, such as the Maxips Fík Embankment in Kadani (2012) and Loeschner Square in Kadani (2015), and has a number of landscape and urban planning projects and studies. In the years 2013–2021, he worked at the Institute of Planning and Development m. of Prague (IPR), where he participated in concepts and studies of public space and landscape. He was behind the first architectural competitions in the Czech Republic and has been dealing with the topics of suburban landscape development and green infrastructure for a long time.
