About event
Tiger in distress presents the Prague premiere of the production Landscape with Warehouses directed by Ivo Kristián Kubák. The author of the play is Marie Nováková.
The end of the year in the West Bohemian borderlands. The glow of logistics halls and the melancholic charm of Advent attract lonely souls. The living and the dead gather in the scarred landscape in front of the worker's dormitory.
They settle scores from the past, dream of a better future, bring their secrets to light and all suffer from insomnia.
The current play by Cheb native Maria Nováková is a portrait of a landscape on which she has left a deep early modern history. It takes place in a place that for the last hundred years has been treated as a strategic territory, not a community, and where people have died far from their homes. At night, strange meetings take place here.
A meeting of former border guards is interrupted by an uninvited guest from the past, a retired prostitute talks to Bashkir fighters, a Polish storekeeper confides in a Sudeten German.
"I want to go with you along the edge of the forest like a silent shadow. I want to accompany the owls in flight to the church tower. I want to freeze those who tormented me. I want to stop! Take me to you! I want to stop! Just stop! Stop me!"
