About event
The summer school for adults at Studio Bubec will offer a unique opportunity to work under the guidance of Patrik Hábl, a prominent figure in contemporary Czech painting.
The theme will be plein air painting and drawing in nature. In the environment of the Prokopské and Dalejské údolí we will explore the landscape structures and learn to transfer them sensitively into the medium of painting. We will perceive the landscape from the whole to the detail, we will show how to capture its multi-layeredness on paper and canvas.
The studio part of the program will be devoted to the transfer of what we see to the canvas. We will work with the transformation of the landscape using painting tools - surfaces, spots and colored matter. We will focus on the perception of individual colors and their effect on the human eye, we will try working with color density and experimental approaches inspired by calligraphy. We will gradually compose the individual paintings into a larger painting.
Both advanced creators and participants without previous experience with artistic creation are welcome in the course. The summer school will offer an intensive creative experience combining direct observation of the landscape and the interpretive possibilities of painting.
