About event

🇺🇦The international exhibition "Kramatorsk, a city on the front line - Voices of Ukrainian women" will present powerful stories about life under permanent threat from war, but also about the changing role of women in contemporary Ukraine.

❔What to do when will your husband be kidnapped? Where did the statue of V. I. Lenin go? How are roses grown during the occupation? From a total of twenty-five testimonies filmed by the organization Post Bellum Ukraine, we will present a selection of nine very diverse stories of women who, against the background of the fury of war, became important movers of history. Their testimonies reveal the history and war present of the city and the whole of Ukraine through personal experiences and memories. Nine stories, each different. We will meet an engineer, a photographer, the founder of a dog shelter and an asylum or the director of a local psychiatric hospital. Several of these women had already been forced to flee the Donetsk region before the war, but most of them returned as soon as possible.

🕊️Last but not least, the exhibition reminds us that the war conflict in Ukraine is still ongoing and that persevering with the help of this country is just as important today as when it was attacked.

🤝The creation of the exhibition was supported by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Czech Republic as part of the Transformational Cooperation Program and the Czech foreign development, humanitarian and transformational cooperation Czech Aid.< br/>
The patronage of the exhibition was taken over by the mayor of the capital city of Bratislava, Matúš Vallo, and the chairman of the Bratislava self-governing region, Juraj Droba.
