Reportedly, long-term journaling has a huge impact on our mental, emotional and physical well-being. I personally would not attribute this miraculous power to them. Nevertheless, there are many positives that it brings.
Diaries show moments that we sometimes tend to forget. They confront us with the truth - friends, good but also bad experiences. They serve for self-reflection, can reveal recurring life patterns and can help us better understand the life we lead. With the necessary distance.
The value of diaries lies primarily in the freedom they offer. There is no right or wrong way of what or how to record in our journal. They don't have to be in written form, they can be audio recordings, phone notes, Instagram content or drawings.
The collection of my diaries presents drawings from 2014-2024. At first, they were mainly created during the study of Visual Design. We drew anywhere, anytime, with anything. Later, I started making individual records regularly, more honestly, and I haven't stopped doing it. That is, except for the moments when this activity did not make me happy.
My diaries bring a series of drawings, paintings, poems, quotations, with which I capture experiences and perceptions from my life. Their value is not artistic, but primarily emotional. Subjective perception of lived moments in which relationships, celebrations, sorrows, pubs, or even normal doing nothing play a role. But above all you.
With this, I want to open up to you and show more than 600 diary entries at the exhibition, which will take place on 28 November 2024 in Kobka 17 on Smíchovská naplavka.
