About event
The publishing house of Romani literature Kher publishes the book Black Butterfly, and we are honored that the book will be launched in the Museum of Romani Culture.
✒️ Roma writer, activist and artist Kiba Lumberg comes from traditionally patriarchal Finnish Kale. He describes his life in this community in the autobiographical trilogy Memesa - the first volume was translated from the Finnish original by Viola Parente-Čapková and is published under the title Black Butterfly. (The black butterfly is also the name of a key work by Kiba Lumberg which can be seen at the current exhibition of the same name in the Museum of Roma Culture.)
PROGRAMME:
🍾 The book will be baptized by the prominent Slovak artist Emília Rigová and at the same time from her reads a few samples.
🗣 You can learn more about the Kale community and the book publishing process thanks to Jana Horváthová and Karolína Ryvolová.
🎤 The baptism will be musically accompanied by a pair of female Roma musicians Lenka Grundzová (vocals) and Martina Daňková (vocals, guitar).
Free entry. We look forward to seeing you!
