About event
We invite you to the baptism of Kristina Hamplová's debut novel Lover/Fighter.
Four years, four frantic episodes, blue parrot meat and clouds of violence. Lover/Fighter tells the story of childhood and youth in a world where people are relentlessly at each other's throats.
Kendra and I are serving at the beginning of April. It's hot and the aisles between the office buildings are just starting. Everything is grilled: cheese, fish, meatballs, corn, shrimp, and tofu. Kendra gets some decent clothes, a small dirty grill, roasts the parrots, serves them to the corporate guys and enjoys how sweet aggression starts to control them. they fight like lions and have incredible stamina. The afternoon sun shines in their hair, we bet who will win.
Sometimes the confused police arrive on the scene, who cannot understand why the wave of aggression is spreading in the fashionable district. Because it is happening in Prague, there are a few articles about it in the national media, and the experts who are contacted generally blame it on either syndrome burnout, or crisis of masculinity, according to your own worldview. As a result, Kendra argues, this grazing will lead to a shorter work week. As if she cared."
