Baptism of the book "Incentives for the Liberation of Palestine"
We invite you to the christening of the new book Incentives for the Liberation of Palestine, which will take place on Tuesday, December 17, 2024 in the Acid Coffee area.< br/>
This book, like the collection If I Should Die, is published under the auspices of the Utopia Libri publishing house. The editor is again Tereza Langrová. The authors are: Farah Abou Kharroub, Nataša Dudinski, Petra Dvořáková, Joe Grim Feinberg, Shir Hever, Amal Khoury, Nadia Kotaishová, Nina Lakhani, Tereza Langrová (ed.), Mahmúd Mushtahá, Ilham Rawoot, Prokop Singer, Hanín Zu' ábí.
It has been more than a year since Israel's war against Gaza began. The massacres of Palestinian men and women do not end, on the contrary, they are escalating. Israel is intensifying its bombing and ground invasion of Lebanon. The threat of intense conflict throughout the region hangs in the air. The collection On this earth is something to live for tries to resist these dark prospects. It brings stimuli for the liberation of Palestine and inspiration for the activity of readers. "Don't look for hope in my words, give me hope with your actions," said Palestinian poet Yahya Ashur recently. This collection fills in the blind spots of the Czech media narrative in the form of ignored context and stories from Palestine, Israel and the Czech Republic. At the same time, it shows a range of possibilities for actions that will bring hope.
Program:
◾Discussion with the authors of the book
◾The debate is followed by refreshments with traditional with flavors of the Levant from Aleb Kitchen & Bar
◾The evening will end with DJ Youssef Motus, cofounder of the Darna project, who comes from Egypt and Saudi Arabia. Youssef is not only a talented DJ, but also a photographer, activist and a strong member of the pro-Palestinian community.
Come be inspired, learn more and share a space for ideas and culture together.
We look forward to seeing you!

It's been over a year since the Israeli war against Gaza began. The massacres of Palestinians continue unabated, intensifying. Israel is increasing its bombings and ground invasion into Lebanon. The threat of an expanded conflict throughout the region looms. This anthology, On This Land, There Is a Reason to Live, seeks to resist these grim forecasts. It offers prompts for the liberation of Palestine and inspiration for readers to take action. "Don't look for hope in my words, give me hope with your actions," said Palestinian poet Yahya Ashour. This anthology fills in the blind spots of the Czech media narrative, presenting ignored contexts and stories from Palestine, Israel, and the Czech Republic. At the same time, it shows a range of possible actions that can bring hope.
Program:
◾ Discussion with the authors on the themes of Palestinian liberation and how to actively engage in addressing this issue.
◾ After the debate, enjoy a shared meal with traditional Levantine flavors from Aleb Kitchen & Bar
◾ The evening will be closed by DJ Youssef Motus, co-founder of the Darna project, who comes from Egypt and Saudi Arabia. Youssef is not only a talented DJ but also a photographer, activist, and a strong member of the pro-Palestinian community.
Come to be inspired, learn more, and share a space for thoughts and culture.
