What can we learn from Roma cooking and gardening about friendlier ways of life towards those around us — human and more-than-human? How to approach inherited culinary practices, metabolic relationships and differences? Can the processes taking place in the kitchen, in the garden or in the forest inspire thinking, feeling and regeneration? And how can they help us respond to the interconnected crises of a changing climate, rising costs of living and climates of sexism, ableism and anti-gypsyism? The broth focuses on just these questions. It turns to the inter-ethnic encounter with Roma eating practices and explores what memories, gestures, materials, places, affects and history they carry. books
