About event

The artistic group Dílo invites philosopher, religionist and filmmaker Jan Motal to the launch of his book Radical Theology and a concert by the folk duo MAD, one half of which is another member of our group Dominik Melichar. The pre-Christmas meeting will take place on 12/20/2024 from 18:00 at Acid Coffee. The book will be baptized in the presence of the author and Jakub Vaníček from the Herrmann and Sons publishing house.

The book Radical Theology shows promising ways to think about humanity, nature and suffering in a new way. It approaches engaged Christianity from a male and female perspective, which grows out of the experience of the first world and of black slave women and desires to fight for social and environmental justice, to proclaim love without the boundaries of gender and sexual orientation. For the Czech readership, these thought-provoking essays bring for the first time an overview of important voices of post-war radical thinking about Christianity. The theology of Harvey Cox, Dorothea Sölle, François Laruelle, Delores S. Williams, Jacques Ellul, Theodore W. Jennings or John Milbank and Slavoj Žižek is open, dialogic and critical.

MAD is a madman, a nut, a lunatic , someone from Bohnice, one would say. And MAD really are from Bohnice. Two blossoming millennials, Míla and Dominik, who met at the Ústavní Elementary School, played football together for Slovan Bohnice and were once on a run together in the Ore Mountains, finally rocked up to share their testimony about life, the world, love and willows.
