You certainly know Chili Ta well from social networks and television. She creates, cooks and dances with unceasing energy and enthusiasm. Did you know, however, that it contains the story of a little girl from North Vietnam who originally came to the Czech Republic to visit her father for just a few years?
Her unusual fate, but also what parents and children between two cultures cannot say out loud, is captured in the book Z cheho kvete lotos, which will be published in May in the Edition of Deník N. From interviews with journalist Magdalena Slezáková, family memories and echoes of Vietnamese folk stories, a sensitive mosaic about love, understanding and the search for one's own voice was created, accompanied by Bao Quyen's original illustrations.
📚 We invite you to a book debate with Chili Ta, Magdalena Slezáková and Bao Quyen. The book will be baptized by Trang Do (Asian woman).
