Invitation to the christening ceremony of the photography zine
>>> Construct On Site / Viola Hertelová
Do we, its residents, users or designers construct the urban landscape, or on the contrary does the city space construct, shape and transform us? The visual-documentary probe Construct On Site maps, through a series of found scenes from the environment of urban construction sites and makeshifts, the breaking points, where the disturbed integrity of urban structures reveals the paradoxical fragility of its own foundations. Viola Hertelová (1996), a graduate of the Faculty of Architecture of the BUT in Brno, the Institute of Creative Photography of the SLU in Opava and this year's laureate of the Personality of Czech Photography under 30 years old, publishes a photographic zine in co-production with the 4AM Forum for Architecture and Media, tracking the anomalies of contemporary cities. The concept of the new documentary series develops her earlier projects (Urban Voids, Blank Cities) and aims at societal issues. The zine follows on from the Urban Energies interdisciplinary workshop focused on the photographic interpretation of architecture, which took place in Brno this spring under the leadership of Zara Pfeiffer, Viola Hertelová and Jan Vranovský.
Come on November 14th at 4AM, where at 6:00 p.m. the baptism will take place with the participation of the author together with the micro-opening. The zine will be available for purchase on site at a special price. We look forward to seeing you!
