Kris’ Farewell CI Class & Jam

From Kris Young:

For those who haven’t already heard, I’ve accepted an R&D job with Meta in Seattle. I’ll be an Opto-Mechanical Engineer doing design and holography in the lab for their next generation VR headsets.

It’s a big step that I’m genuinely excited about—but it also comes with some real sadness. Portland has been home for over 10 years, for the last 5, I’ve felt deeply connected to several strong and evolving communities and now my whole family here.

I thought I’d invite everyone to my last night Teaching and Hosting the Contact Jam at the Baker Building.

I’ve been practicing Contact Improv for almost 20 years, but I didn’t get serious about it until I started co-hosting this jam with Autum 3 years ago. Since then, it’s become a deeply meaningful and grounding part of my life.

I know many of you only make it to Contact occasionally, but this feels like a perfect occasion—and I’d really love the chance to dance with you one more time before I head north.

Location: Baker Building — 5511 N Alberta St
Cost: Free (Donations gladly accepted)
