Kritický klub A2 – Neznepokojivá zkušenost jiného: současné podoby folklóru

Contemporary Czech and Slovak literature and cinematography is full of healers, herbs, miracles, incantations, local color, native landscape and collective memory. Are we looking for the soul of the nation again? Are we finding a new form of noble savagery? Has folklore really returned to the people? And how do folklore references work in public space? Is urban folklore thriving? Are we again following a neo-romantic search, a specific process of self-colonization, or the ingenious construction of a new national mythology?

This and a number of other things will be debated by urban geographer and anthropologist Petr Gibas, philosopher Joseph Grim Feinberg, film and literary columnist Jan Kolář and comparative writer Kamila Schewczuková.
