Bitcoin's Way of the Cross* is a ritual, intellectual and existential pilgrimage through the history of the digital revolution, which is changing our understanding of freedom, value and power. Inspired by the archetypal story of suffering and transformation, this event connects the symbolism of the traditional Way of the Cross with the stories of Bitcoin's origin, fall, sacrifice and rebirth.
From the initial revelation in the form of a whitepaper by the pseudonymous prophet Satoshi Nakamoto, through dark periods of mistrust, bans and stock market collapses, to moments of collective awakening and adoption.
The event is not only about Bitcoin as tools, but about it as a phenomenon that tests our faith in decentralization, our willingness to bear responsibility and our ability to think outside the usual systems. It is a contemplative space for reflection: where are we as individuals and as a society when we face a paradigmatic change?
We start with the first stop at the Blue Church in Bratislava at 15:00 on Sunday, the procession will go through the city (with a drink ending). by recording.
Bitcoin's Way of the Cross invites participants not only to observe, but also to experience — to stop, to question, to understand. And maybe, at the end of this journey, find your own answer to the question: what does freedom mean for us in the digital age? Bitcoin's Way of the Cross was created in 2024, it was performatively led in a procession, with music and singing, through several cities in Slovakia and the Czech Republic.
