About event
We cordially invite you to the christening of the new book Po stopóch poézie for children, published by the Slovak Literary Center. The event will take place on December 2, 2025 at 5:00 p.m. in the premises of the P. O. Hviezdoslava Library in Prešov.
The guest of the event will be the author and compiler of the book Dávid Dziak, who will explain his journey to children's poetry and reveal more about the behind-the-scenes of the creation of the publication.
Moderator: Kristína Soboň.
The book was famously illustrated and designed by Peter Ličko, whose visual solution takes the book's poetics to the next dimension.
We invite everyone who loves children's poetry, but also those who may have thought until now that they were just rhyming poems to be recited to grandparents after Sunday lunch. Come and see for yourself that children's poetry is a world full of playfulness, humor, discoveries and beauty.
Entrance is free.
Dávid Dziak is a literary scholar, teacher and author who specializes in literature for children and youth. He works as an assistant professor at the Faculty of Education of the University of Prešov. He is the co-author of two monographs on children's literature, the author of several professional and author's texts in magazines and anthologies, and two award-winning books for children - Poď do razprávky (Ivan Kraska Prize, 2022) and the poetry collection Zápisník jedno chlavac (2024). In 2025, the Slovak Literary Center published a book guide to the magical world of poetry for young readers entitled Po stopách poézie pre deti (illustrated by Peter Ličko).
