We cordially invite you to the exhibition Circles on Water 2024

The international design contest oriented to the craft Circles on the water is a platform to confront new works seeking inspiration in traditional artistic production. Its mission is to develop dialogue on traditional values, their preservation and innovation in contemporary craft, utility art and design. The aim of finding possible penetrations and the initiation of cooperation between craftsmen and professional designers.

The selection of the best works submitted to the current 12th year of the competition will be presented in the ÚĽUV Gallery Bratislava from 14 November 2024 to 7 March 2025. - 7. 3. 2025
Opening hours: Monday to Friday from 12.00 to 18.00
Curator: Mgr. et Mgr. Art. Mária Svojik Nepšinská, PhD. University students, taking into account craft approaches in the realizations of contemporary design, or using a tradition in a broader sense as an inspiration for an experiment. In section B, craftsmen and traditional manufacturers of artistic products were presented, with an important criterion of the evaluation being the possibility of serial reproducibility of the works. The ÚĽUV emphasizes the support of designers already at the stage of their formation at secondary schools with an artistic focus, so the competition gave them space in a separate section C, in which they enrolled works inspired by the procedures and patterns of traditional craft, realized from natural or lesser extent from alternative materials. href = "https://uluv.sk/podujatia/cruby-na-vode-2024/"> https://uluv.sk/podujatia/cruby-na-vode-2024/
