About event

ADHD: Excuse or Superpower?
"Not paying attention." "He's just not trying." And then "he's a genius when he wants to be." The truth is in between: children (and adults) with ADHD have real obstacles as well as real strengths. At the event Who is paying attention? we will look at ADHD without myths and without romanticizing it - practically, comprehensibly and with respect. You will learn why attention is hard to "switch on command", how executive functions work in a normal day, what hyperfocus is and what really helps people with ADHD. Interviews with experts, experiences of parents, simple practical tips await you in a respectful atmosphere.

Who pays attention?
Instead of asking "who doesn't pay attention?" we ask: who pays attention to people and the environment. We are talking about executive functions in practice (organization, switching, planning), about hyperfocus as an equivalent form of concentration, about sensory ecology (noise, light, smells) and about safety as a prerequisite for attention (trauma-informed approach). We address collective attention in the classroom and in the team, digital distractions and the "attention economy", as well as the effects of prejudice on different groups. We promote self-awareness and agency: When do I pay attention? What helps me?
