About event
📷The Liszt Institute – Hungarian Cultural Center in Bratislava cordially invites you to the opening of the exhibition of photographer Gábor Arion Kudász called Tropical Depression, which is part of the 35th edition of the International Photography Month. This year's theme is photography and artificial intelligence.
Kudász Gábor Arion (1978) is a photographer awarded with the Capa Grand Prize. He studied photography at the Hungarian University of Applied Arts (now Moholy-Nagy University of Art and Design), where he has been teaching for twenty years. His work is characterized by extensive, essentially documentary cycles, which often contain staged and fictitious compositional elements.
"The central theme of the Tropical Depression project is the generational conflict between the demands of parents and the desires and ambitions of children. All this takes place against the background of a mixture of the colonial past and the still-persistent presence of communism, into which the commercialism of capitalism creeps in as a possible future face of Vietnam. Kudász managed to create a complete work that talks about such universal themes as unfulfilled expectation, dealing with an adverse fate and prospects for the future in the present, which for various reasons is difficult to keep under control."
(Zuzana Lapitková, curator of the exhibition.)
The exhibition is open until November 28, during the opening hours: Mon-Thurs: 9:00-17:00 Fri: 9:00-14:00. The exhibition will be exceptionally open on Saturday, November 8 from 14:00 to 18:00!
Our exhibition is part of the 35th edition of the Month of Photography, which combines 27 domestic and foreign exhibitions. You can find more information on the page www.mesiacfotografie.eu.
We are looking forward to seeing you!
