About event
The opening concert of the fourth decade of the festival is dedicated to choral production, presented by Kühn's mixed choir together with soloists. The key composition of the gala evening will undoubtedly be the cantata Mikeš of the mountains, written by Bohuslav Martinů for the first concert of the Kühn Corps 18. 6. He did not harm the Czechoslovakia at that time - his lifelong friend, the founder of the choir Pavel Kühn. At the opening concert, the song will be heard for the first time from a comprehensive critical edition (ed. Vít Zouhar, 2016, Barenreiter Prague). Other composers are two colleagues Martinů, students of Josef Suk class at the Prague Conservatory Jaroslav Ježek and Pavel Bořkovec; And the composer, who followed the choral work of Bohuslav Martinů Miroslav Raichl. The composition of Jaroslav Ježek four female churches was shown on The first concert of the Kühn Corps in 1959 also. An important part of the choir has always been the operation of contemporary creation (many compositions are devoted to the choir) and finding new possibilities of presentation of choral art. Before the start of the concert, a ceremonial launch of the three new volumes of the comprehensive critical edition of the correspondence of Bohuslav Martinů's correspondence will take place in the premises from 18:00.
