About event
Meet Kuku Magda, the well-to-do Afro-Surinamese woman who became famous for her irresistible Bojo and refreshing Surinamese drinks.
Kuku Magda's customers not only came for the taste, but also for her listening ear and warm personality. But when Kuku Magda is alienated from her roots and only thinks about money, the tide turns. Her delicacies fail, her prosperity disappears. Only when she embraces the spiritual power of her ancestors, her Kondre Aisa, does she find her way back. This musical story, peppered with singing and rhythm, takes you into the life lessons of a woman who learns to listen again - not only to her customers, but also to her country.
