About event
Since the inauguration of Robert Fico's government last year, the independent media in Slovakia have been facing new and unexpected challenges, but also opportunities. The political pressure exerted on journalists and editors caused many to fear for the freedom of the press. The media landscape is increasingly affected by the rise of disinformation and alternative media. What is the current situation for Slovak media? And what kind of future do they have?

Jana Ďuďáková
Jana Ďuďáková is a reporter for Czech Television. In the program Newsroom ČT24, he focuses on Slovak and political issues. She also worked as a reporter for Television Markíza for several years.
Braňo Závodský
Braňo Závodský is the author of the successful podcast series Braňo Závodský Live. He also worked at Denník N and Television Turiec. He has been a journalist for more than two decades and is one of Slovakia's top journalists.
Jana Krescanko Dibáková
Jana Krescanko Dibáková worked for 22 years at TV JOJ, where she became famous mainly for her show On the edge. In April this year, she left television and is now, among other things, the editor of the daily SME.
