Can the anger of one person become the power of a change that will cause a movement with more than 10 million people? Can the letter change life to the unfairly imprisoned person? Do community breakfast have the potential to grow into the assembly alerting to the segregation of Roma pupils and pupils in education in Slovakia?
Amnesty International is the largest human rights organization in the world. Along with more than 10 million members and members around the world, human rights and freedoms are actively prevented in the General Declaration of Human Rights. Through advocacy and international campaigns, thanks to petitions, activism and public events, as well as through human rights education, the organization has been able to help the freedom of thousands of people who found themselves behind bars or in the cell of death for more than 60 years of existence.
Expressing hope and vision for a better society is an essential aspect of mobilization and maintenance of collective efforts in activist practice. The emotional appeal is not a manifestation of naivety, in this context it has a challenge, it becomes a means of creating common values ββand goals. Activism is not only about planning specific steps, but also about the ability to inspire and motivate people to engage and stay engaged. Hope is not only a naive dream, but also a change tool. The organizer Pride BB (Pride BanskΓ‘ Bystrica) and co -founder of the informal platform Inokraj - which creates activities support LGBTIQ people in the BanskΓ‘ Bystrica region, is currently dedicated to teaching photography in Bratislava, doctoral studies at the Department of IDM - PT at the Academy of Arts in BanskΓ‘ Bystrica. Amnesty International Slovakia deals with coordination of activism and volunteering, where together with volunteering organizes activist events and events, the screening of films and co -creates a community of people interested in observing human rights at local and global level.
