About event
Only recent research on the Tiergartenviertel, the Church of St. Matthäus and building under National Socialism has brought Albert Speer's huge plans for the capital Germania back into debate. This tour from the Academy of Arts at Pariser Platz 4, via the Tiergartenviertel with St. Matthäus and the heavy-duty body on General-Pape-Straße opens up a sensual access to the size and violence of National Socialist architecture in Berlin.
The tour ends at Tempelhof Central Airport as a testimony to colossal architecture, which not only poses almost insoluble problems for the state of Berlin.
Germany ticket or BVG ticket required.
Meeting point: at Pariser Platz, in front of the Academy of Arts
City guide: Dr. Torsten Flüh
As the number of participants is limited, we ask that you register.
