When the calendar is supposed to be contemplative and we're still rushing to get presents, organize families, write questionable cards to loved ones far away, quickly knit something and find ecologically responsible tinsel, it's time to stop for an hour and spend time with children, friends and art. Time to get into the tik. For a glass of punch, mulled wine or beer and a portion of togetherness.

Candle number 2: René Marik is reading
The second candle on the circular fir green means: René Marik - comedian, puppeteer, musician, author, tik buddy and fellow human being - come around and read. Now not the classic Christmas story. No, no! René Marik reads from his second book. It’s called “City explodes in your head” and it’s not even finished yet. Yes, you heard that right. On December 7th you have the chance to listen live and in color, directly and vis-à-vis, into the creation process of his autofictional coming-of-age novel, which takes place in the wild post-reunification period. That's right, that's exactly our topic with our production “Theater Techno Tempel”. And yes, we think it's crazy too.
"City explodes in the head" tells the story of Franz Müller, who moves from an orderly West German small town to the unfinished, chaotic and thrown together East Berlin in the early 1990s. The nerdy math student becomes politically radical, plays street theater, squats in a house and finds his first big, but unhappy, love. All of this happened within a few weeks in the summer of 1993. A hero's journey and at the same time a historical snapshot.
