Kunstführung mit Kreativ-Workshop für Blinde und Menschen mit Sehbehinderung
Art tour with creative workshop for blind people and people with visual impairments
Event by: Allgemeiner Blinden- und Sehbehindertenverein Berlin gegr. 1874 e. V.
Location: Stiftung Kunstforum Berliner Volksbank, Kaiserdamm 105, Berlin - Bezirk Charlottenburg-Wilmersdorf
About event
The event takes place as part of the @wochedesgehens. Every year from October 8th to 15th, this draws attention to the importance of good eyesight and the causes of blindness and continues to pursue the goal of enabling all visually impaired and blind people to live an equal and barrier-free everyday life.
It starts with a short tour through the exhibition “Paradise” by Christian Thoelke. The contemporary artist and curator juxtaposes city views from the Berliner Volksbank art collection with his own paintings of abandoned GDR architecture. The imagery reflects conflicts and potential of social upheavals then and now.
Three of the works of art are described in detail during the tour. Afterwards, the workshop will take place right next door in the workshop for creative people, led by our museum educators. Participants can model their own small work of art from an easily shapeable material or draw with ink.
The event runs on October 9th from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m. It is free of charge and is aimed exclusively at blind people and people with visual impairments. Assistants are welcome.
The meeting point is at 4:30 p.m. at the Sophie-Charlotte-Platz subway station (U2, exit towards Lietzenseepark), where participants will be picked up.
