Course: Data as a commodity - the legal framework of data dispositions in a world where data represents the new currency of the future
The course covers a wide range of legal and ethical aspects of data protection, whether personal data, objects of intellectual property, operational, statistical, research and other data and information. Emphasis is placed on the specific framework and modes of their protection, including practical application, legal and technological possibilities of dispositions with this data, which will enable participants to gain a comprehensive view of data as a commodity.

JUDr. Ján Matejka, Ph.D
Lawyer and legal scholar dealing with issues of information technology and information systems law. Since 2015, he has been the director of the Institute of State and Law of the Academy of Sciences of the Czech Republic. He works as a teacher at the Faculty of Mathematics and Physics of Charles University, where he is the guarantor of the subject Legal aspects of data security. He is the author or co-author of more than 30 professional monographs and more than 70 scientific articles. He specializes in the issue of the relationship between law and new technologies, including spillovers into private (labor and civil) and administrative law, usually with regard to specific aspects of the protection of legal relationships in the areas of personal data, intellectual property, blockchain and the field of artificial intelligence.
