Suzuki violin teacher - TEACHER TRAINING PRAGUE 2026–2027
LEVEL 1, 2, 3
The Czech Suzuki Association organizes courses for teachers, the so-called Suzuki Teacher Training, under the auspices of the European Suzuki Association (ESA). After completing them, the teacher will receive the competence and certificate to teach according to the Suzuki Method (The Suzuki Method™). The course is conducted in Czech and English in accordance with the ESA document "Teacher Training Manual, Revised 2025" under the guidance of ESA Suzuki instructors Jana Hrabaňová (CZ) – level 1 and Agathe Jerie (CH) – level 2 and 3.

REQUIREMENTS FOR ADMISSION
The course is intended for applicants with a completed education with a musical focus at least at secondary school (conservatory, music gymnasium).

COURSE GRADUATION CONDITIONS
- Membership in the Czech Suzuki Association is mandatory for course participants - (more info https://www.suzukiasociace.cz/clenstvi/), membership from another member country of the European Suzuki Association can be documented.
- Attendance of at least 90% at lessons and observations.
- Adherence to payment deadlines.
- Timely submission of required assignments and written works, reading recommended literature and mastering Suzuki's violin technique.
EXAMINATION
After completing the course, there will be a final exam in front of a committee composed of three Suzuki trainers from different countries.
Certificate:
After successfully passing the exam, the candidate will become a "Suzuki teacher" and receive a license from the European Suzuki Association to teach according to The Suzuki Method™ Level 1 (Suzuki Violin Book 1), Level 2 (Suzuki Violin Book 2 and 3) or 3rd level (Suzuki Violin Book 4 and 5).
ORGANIZATION OF THE COURSE
The course will take place face-to-face and partly also online (at level 2 and 3). Teaching takes place in Czech and English. The duration is 120 hours for level 1 and 100 hours for level 2 or 3.

TRAINERS
AGATHE JERIE – ESA Suzuki Teacher Trainer, Switzerland
Agathe Jerie grew up in Switzerland and graduated from the conservatory in Bern. Subsequently, she studied in Prague with prof. Strauss and in Basel with prof. Schneeberger. She performed as a soloist and chamber player in Switzerland and abroad, and in addition to raising her four children, she first devoted herself to teaching in a traditional way, and then she encountered the Suzuki method. Completed training (5 levels) "Suzuki teacher" in 1999 with Kerstin Wartberg. As a Suzuki Teacher Trainer, she teaches new teachers in Switzerland, Germany, Italy and the Czech Republic. Every year, he organizes international summer courses in Interlaken, Switzerland and teaches at workshops all over Europe.
JANA HRABAŇOVÁ – ESA Suzuki Teacher Trainer, Czech Republic
Jana Hrabaňová graduated from the Academy of Performing Arts in Prague. During her studies, she became a co-founder of the Škamp Quartet and performed with this group for almost twenty years. The quartet has won major awards and performed in Europe, Japan, North and South America, Mexico, Australia and New Zealand. After that, she focused on teaching work. In 2012, she took part in a performance by the Swiss Suzuki students led by Agathe Jerie. She was charmed and decided to begin teacher training for the Suzuki method under her guidance. She co-founded the Czech Suzuki Association and began spreading the Suzuki method throughout the country. She completed all 5 levels of the Suzuki Violin Method in 2013-17 and was named a Suzuki Teacher Trainer in 2025. She led workshops in Spain, Switzerland, Belgium and Poland.
