About event
Course of a specific form of positive animal training led by professional trainer RNDr. František Šusta, author of the books Training is interview... and others.
For whom the course is suitable: Basically for any human-dog pair, including those who live together in a normal problem-free relationship. For such, the course will simply bring "something new" and a new interesting form of work. However, it will be very useful for owners of shy or aggressive dogs for whom touching or procedures such as eye drops, ear drops, brushing teeth, claw correction, etc. are a problem... And especially for owners of adopted animals dealing with difficult experiences from the past.
collaboration that surprisingly GIVES THE ANIMAL CONFIDENCE, FREEDOM AND A REALLY POSITIVE TRAINING ATTITUDE? So come and learn together the so-called protected contact. Training through a barrier is a very common form of work in zoos, and to the layman it may give the impression that it is a case of cowardice on the part of the trainer. In reality, however, the barrier provides a sense of security to the animal and that is why even shy individuals cooperate much better through it. Behind the barrier, usually a contact grid, the animal has its SAFE PLACE, where no one can interfere. No form of coercion can be used on him and he can freely give START and STOP through it at any time. In protected contact, the zoo trainers handle a series of treatments, from NAIL CORRECTION, EYE DROPS AND TEETH CLEANING to BLOOD COLLECTIONS AND INJECTIONS. So why not get inspired for our life with a dog, even if we are not afraid of each other?
This form of work without the possibility of interfering in the animal's space, however, has its peculiarities and procedures, as well as the basics, which should not be underestimated at the beginning . In this course, I will share with you my experience of training different species in protected contact, procedures from other colleagues from abroad, and together we will apply everything to our dogs.
Form of the course: The course takes place in three meetings of a group of eighteen members via Zoom (the recording remains for you) and then in an individual consultation of the lecturer with individual participants. As part of this consultation, each participant can send a video of their training with questions to the lecturer once after each joint meeting and receive feedback and answers (so a total of max. 3 consultations during the entire course). If the participant agrees, their video can be discussed directly at the next Zoom meeting. For those interested, for a separate price, I will organize two dates of Saturday training meetings, where we will train practically and pick up procedures. EACH DOG IS DIFFERENT AND I EXPECT THAT WE WILL SEARCH TOGETHER THE SUITABLE PROCEDURES FOR YOU.
Dates: There are several weeks between each appointment to allow time for training and consult individually.
1. meeting - Monday 9.12. 2024 EXCEPTIONALLY from 20:30 to approximately 23:00. Getting to know the participants, setting the contact barrier, aids, creating basic positions and endurance. The question of motivation and creating a sense of security in shy animals.
