About event
There are more than half in the population and account for about 60 % of graduates of universities - yet there are only about 23 % of their decision -making positions in politics and business. This year's first Tuesdays with Jiřina Šiklová's Library, therefore dares to a controversial topic of positive gender measures, including demonized quotas in the Czech Republic.
Dr Zuzana Fellegi, author of the book “Gender Positive Measures in Public Decision (or Quotes and Myths)”, presents her research on international levels and will discuss not only quotas but also on the match of work and care. and a long -term collaborator of the free legal counseling center Gender Studies, o.p.s.
Dr. Zuzana Fellegi "Gender Positive Measures in Public Decision -making (or quotas and myths)" Requires why women are missing in decision -making positions and what measures can improve their representation in parlaments and business management. The publication analyzes the practice of the UN, the EU, the Council of Europe and selected countries and the possibilities of applying this knowledge in the Czech Republic. Interestingly, Directive (EU) 2022/2381 on the improvement of gender balance between members of the bodies of the fired companies is currently being discussed in the Czech Parliament.
