that from the brothers Shuya Okino (Kyoto Jazz Sextet, The Room in Shibuya) and Yoshihiro Okino founded Crossover-Projekt Kyoto Massive (KJM) returns to Europe after 15 years of stage break and celebrates its 30th anniversary with fresh material and in a new line-up. Under the direction of Shuya Okino, KJM is accompanied live and in the studio by the powerful Echoes of a New Dawn Orchestra (Eoando). A unique crossover vision of jazz radio, Broken Beat to Soulful House to Cosmic Grooves and everything that was in between. International club jazz and crossover scene decisively. The international breakthrough was made with the single Eclipse (Compost Records) and the album Spirit of the Sun (2000), which was style -defining with its innovative mix of jazz, house, broken beats, funk and electronica.

with the kyoto jazz massive live set, including With Vanessa Freeman and Tasita d’ Mour, the formation toured through Europe and Asia from 2004, including appearances at the Tokyo Crossover Jazz Festival and the North Sea Jazz Festival. At the same time, Shuya Okino established itself as a producer and DJ as well as the author of several specialist books on club culture. In 2006 his solo album United Legends appeared, which was produced exclusively digital and by email communication. With Destiny (2011) he gathered artists: inside like Navasha Daya, N'Dea Davenport and Pete Simpson.

From 2015 they revived the brand as Kyoto Jazz Sextet - with two celebrated albums in the spirit of Pharoah Sanders. 2022 Kyoto Jazz Massive returned with message from a new dawn, a modern, danceable jazz crossover between house, Afrobeat, soul and radio. Also there: Vanessa Freeman and jazz legend Roy Ayers.

After 15 years of stage break in Europe, Shuya started a new live offensive, supported by the Paris Echoes of A New Dawn Orchestra. The band, known for its stylistic range from radio to jazz radio to broken, has developed an excellent reputation for years, including its Residency Funk & the City in New Morning in Paris and regular appearances at parties like South London Soul Train. In addition, the band worked with formative Boogie radio artists of the 1980s such as Howard Johnson and Junior Giscombe.

Kyoto Jazz Massive celebrate their 30th anniversary with concerts in Europe and new productions, including a collaboration album with the Echoes of a New Dawn Orchestra and a new version of the classic Substream.

Support plays the Honmerger Jazz-Fusion-Pianist Tc.kylie with her band The Hourglass. Her compositions merge jazz with classic gaming music styles à la Sega and Nintendo, explore the terrain of the Japanese acid jazz and are inspired by artists like Shaun Martin and Robert Glasper. (vocals)
