About event
The French Institute in Slovakia is organizing its first "Night of Ideas" on October 17, 2024.
The Night of Ideas (Nuit des idées) is a series of events organized by the network of French Institutes, each year focusing on a specific theme; for the year 2024, the name was chosen: "Breaking points".
On the occasion of the twentieth anniversary of Slovakia's accession to the European Union, the French Institute in Slovakia chose the name "Breaking points - fragmented Europe?"
As part of the event, you will have the opportunity to participate in a discussion with the participants of the round table on the following topics:
- Is there an "old" and a "new" Europe?
- What is the state of democracy in Europe?
Discussions will take place exclusively in English. Each debate will feature speakers: academics, representatives of civil society or public institutions of six different nationalities.
Journalists Michal HAVRAN (STVR) and Frédéric MARTEL (Radio France) will co-moderate the event.
We will discuss on Thursday, October 17 at 6:00 p.m. in Pink Whale.
The round tables will be followed by a concert by the Slovak group Trilobeat.
The event is free, with a limited capacity of seats. Please register to reserve a place.
