The event is part of Circus Nights, coordinated by the New Circus Association and La Nuit du Cirque, an international event organized by Territoires de Cirque (France).
At the event on November 17, the day of the Struggle for Freedom and Democracy, Industra gave the group Cie Pieds Perchés free hand to create site-specific performances. They will use the multidisciplinary project Scars / Bakelite Children as a basis for this intervention. What is remembering?
What do we and our bodies retain from different life stories?
How is the history of pain transmitted from generation to generation? How can we talk about this pain?
In the first part of the SCARS/ La débattue project, the author of the concept examined her family history and questioned the visible and invisible traces that certain historical events may have left on her.
Bakelite children are also created based on interviews, but this time with people who were around 10 years old at the time of the Velvet Revolution. The authors of the project are interested in the point of view of a person who is on the threshold of adulthood, who is already able to form his own opinion on the world, and at the same time does not yet have to be burdened by the accumulation of life experiences of an adult individual or social conventions.
The connection between the first and second part of the SCARS project is a process of healing and healing through conversation and sharing.
Bakelite children are an experimental collage created by the composition of various art forms. It combines elements of a sound and video installation, which are activated by small movement and acrobatic performances, supported by an authentic musical accompaniment.
