Lady Bird (Gerwig, 2017)

A funny, honest and slightly melancholic coming-of-age drama by Greta Gerwig about coming of age, the search for one's own identity and the complicated relationship between a daughter and a mother. Lady Bird is a film full of chaos, embarrassment, first loves and moments that are painfully reminiscent of her own teenage years.
Christine, who calls herself Lady Bird, tries to survive her last year of high school in Sacramento and at the same time escape from an environment in which, according to her, she never fully belonged. At the same time, she deals with friendships, family, love and ideas about what kind of life she actually wants to live.
One of the most striking debuts of recent years and a film that definitively confirmed Greta Gerwig among the most important authors of contemporary American cinema.
