Lael Neale in Doka

Lael Neale combines minimalist dronepop with influences from the transcendentalists, the melancholic sound of primitive American gospel music and the alienation of modern life. Since her contract with Sub Pop in 2020, she has divided her time between the national Virginia and Los Angeles, interspersed with extensive tours through Europe and performances in the US. Together with producer Guy Blakeslee, she created two globally praised at home recorded albums. The third appears in 2025. Her unconventional style is praised by, among others, The Guardian, Mojo, and Spin, and even attracted the attention of Iggy Pop, who praised her work on BBC Radio.
