About event

The comedy, in which money is first and foremost

one of the most famous works of the leading playwright of French Classicism, has been enjoying almost three and a half centuries of theater audience by showing what a sick obsession with money or a passionate dependence on mamon. The great champion of comic characters gives a colorful image of endless ways of manipulation, deceit and pretense in the most intimate environment of the family. When it comes to money, there are no rules of decency or respect for children to parents and parents. Lakota is a passion that limits his children - the son of Kleant and the daughter of Eliška, not to mention the servants. He can accumulate money with hard usure and self -creation. His children cannot do anything, but they want to live and use life, preferably with their palm. Harpagon's obsession with gold evokes hatred and mockery - the stronger the stronger the more in the name of greed manipulates their fates: Eliška says to marry the aging rich man, even though his daughter loves young Valer, and Kleanta marry with a rich widow, regardless of the son. He is thinking of Marian's marriage himself. In this family intertwining, Molière reveals the consequences of Harpagon's passion after gold. Children with their allies are forced to take things into their own hands, run out of the greedy father and give him a vigorous lesson. However, their means (hypocrisy, adequate, insincerity, crafty, ruthlessness and last theft) do not put anything in the monstrosity of Harpagon's egocentrism. And it is impossible to say about his opponents. Molière appears in the trial of morals as a moralist, but as a moralist who does not immlorize; It remains a comediograph of the instructed comedy Dellʼarte and an ancient farmer. Lakomec is a testimony of the state of the human spirit and at the same time offers great entertainment. The production of Lakomce with Boleslav Polívka in the role of Harpagon and directed by Stanislav Moš is more than the promise of an extraordinary theater event.
